EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE WRITER

Are you an experienced Service Writer?

Michael Jordan Nissan's Service Dept is very busy we're seeking a motivated, performance-driven Service Writer to join our team. Do you have excellent people, sales, phone and computer skills? Here at Michael Jordan Nissan, we believe in an incentive-based pay structure. Those with high productivity will be compensated accordingly and will make $60k-$75K.

Responsibilities/Duties

Customer Service

  • Follow company procedures for welcoming customers & checking them in for service, gathering information, explaining the inspection process, and collecting signed work orders before any work is done.
  • Follow company procedures for educating customers on inspection results for their vehicles, communicating the benefits and value of any needed work, and answering any questions.
  • Follow company procedures for checking out customers - reviewing any work done, seeking feedback, scheduling follow-up and future appts, etc.
  • Proactively communicate with customers throughout their visit and on the phone/text/email for drop offs to keep them informed.
  • Verify that inspections are being performed consistently and accurately on all vehicles. Spot-check & maintain training on inspection procedures as needed.
  • Follow up on any declined work, customer satisfaction, and any lingering questions.

Sales

  • Meet daily, weekly and monthly sales goals.
  • Complete ongoing training to stay up on current product and service techniques.
  • Promote and educate the customer on current promotions.

Point-of-Sale

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the write-up system and be able to build a repair order quickly and efficiently.
  • Work with the Parts Dept. to acquire parts in a timely manner, track arrival and verify with the technician immediately to ensure parts are available.
  • Verify full documentation on every ticket - inspection sheet, estimates, work orders, final invoice, battery test form, etc.
  • Accurately enter pricing and cost of parts onto the repair order.

Center Upkeep

  • Proactively work to maintain a clean, comfortable and professional image at all times.
  • Perform closing duties as needed.

Teamwork/Culture

  • Be a team player and communicator. Help other people meet their goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, productive team environment.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as sales/customer service leader. Ability to think creatively when dealing with customers.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or equivalent.
  • Experience with CDK Global a plus.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

LUBE TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct NC inspections
  • Perform multi-point inspection of vehicle including fluids, battery, brakes, belts, hoses, tires, etc.
  • Change or top off all fluids, check/change oil filter, grease bearings, chassis, etc.
  • Check tire pressure and add air as needed
  • Complete tire installations
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and shop maintenance
  • Keep shop area neat and clean and account for tools
  • Work most Saturdays (closed Sundays)

Qualifications:

  • Experience or recent completion of automotive tech/trade school is preferred. Training is provided.
  • Automotive operational knowledge/working knowledge of shop equipment is preferred
  • A positive attitude and good work ethic
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, MVR and drug screen.

PARTS SPECIALIST

Michael Jordan Nissan is seeking a Parts Specialist. This person will be responsible for servicing the parts need of retail customers, as well as service professionals for their repair needs. The Parts Specialist requires good salesmanship and customer service skill.

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and sells parts to meet customer's needs.
  • Primary responsibilities will be to wholesale customers but will also include retail and shop counter duties.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and other inquiries.
  • Review service estimates to be sure parts are correct.
  • Follow up with all orders including back orders.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer and phone skills required.
  • Help with stocking and incoming shipments as time permits.
  • Must be able to work within a "team environment".

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

  • Driving, background and drug screens required

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the teammate is frequently required to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time. Teammates may be exposed to loud noises, fumes, and other service repair conditions. Teammates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Position Overview: Repairs and refinishes damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and standards.

  • Repairs and refinishes vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • hecks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies Estimators of any additional repairs or parts needed.
  • Maintains personal and shop tools and equipment in a proper state.
  • Notifies Management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised delivery time.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
  • Reports any deviations to Management.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.      

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
